Unglazed terracotta is porous, so it lets air and moisture pass through the clay and the soil dries out more evenly between waterings. The planter has a drainage hole and comes with a matching saucer.

Care
Wipe with a damp cloth. Terracotta darkens when wet, and white mineral marks can appear on the surface over time. Both are normal for unglazed clay. The saucer is also porous, so place a mat underneath on wood or other delicate surfaces.
